Its been a while...

Its been quite a while since I have updated this thing. Its not completely my fault. The internet connections on the Thai islands are not that great. But lets see, since I last wrote I've been to Chiang Mai, Pai, Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. All awesome places except for Koh Phangan... I wasn't that impressed.

Went on a floating market tour

The ladies in the boats are super aggressive

Iris again... looking happy as a clam

I didn't take any photos in Chiang Mai because on Songkran but luckily one of the girls we were with did...

Chrissy and Iris (Chrissy was our photographer for this event)

Mad man Zane ( He's Canadian)

Hittin the streets to cause some damage

Yes... that is a dude in a dress

Pai was a lot calmer and more quiet. A nice little town about 3 hours north of Chiang Mai...

Iris and I fed a baby elephant some bananas

I was so hot in that black t-shirt... never again

I found a new friend

There aren't any photos from the islands I went to... unfortunately

I did complete a diving course on Koh Tao and am now certified to dive up to 18 meters. It was extremely fun and I had the chance to see some amazing fish on the dives. I also met some cool people along the way.

Koh Phangan wasn't that great. I went to the full moon party and was not too impressed. So after that I hoped on the first night bus back to Bangkok to meet up with Zane and Andrew (Canadian guys). So now I'm here in Bangkok with the boys causing trouble :-)

Got Lost... Literally (Bangkok day 2)

Bangkok is a spectacular place with great food. Its also tricky to figure out if you dont know how to navigate this beast. That being said, Iris and I got lost on our first full day in Bangkok Thailand. ( no pun intended for the name of the blog)...

For those who don't already know, my phone has been acting up (since I dropped it in the sand) and Ive been kinda stressed about it. I was informed that there was an "Apple store" near by. Notice that I put the Apple Store in quotes. When I was informed that there was an "Apple Store" in the city, I was beyond happy to have the technicians take a look at my phone.

Once I get to the mall I was thoroughly disappointed. It was a knock off "Apple Store." What the worker called a "satellite" store. I was more than pissed off... but what can I do, I'm in Thailand.

We got to the mall by a tuk tuk, which was pretty inexpensive... but then we decide to be adventurous and take the bus back to our hostel. Bus number 15 was suppose to take us back. Very BOLD of new comers to a new city, especially being foreigners. Needless to say we got lost and was lost in a major way. We were in a part of town that no foreigner had seen and we were being looked at like we were in the wrong in all sorts of ways. (fuck bus number 15 by the way...)

I asked if the right bus was going to pick us up on this street corner, but we waited so long the lingering eyes became uncomfotable. We decided go get a tuk tuk back to Ko San Road... which was "very far" as expressed by the driver. We agreed to the price and just hopped in. It was way better than walking and getting even more lost.

We get back to the hostel, but in all honesty being lost was probably the best part of Bangkok because we got to see a part of the city most people dont get to see. Yes, I was pretty freaked out by taking the wrong bus number 15 but in the end it taught me a lot. One it taught me to not take a bus in a different country and two i taught me that getting lost in a different country isnt so bad.

Overall, Bangkok has been awesome so far. I cant wait to see how Chiang Mai is...

Bangkok!... Day 1

First of all, let me point out that it took us nearly 24 hrs to get to Bangkok from the south of Cambodia. A trip that was advertised as 14 hours. Needless to say I was not happy, but we made it to Koh San Road safely.

It took us a while to find and pick a hostel. We found one and wasn't too impressed so we decided to stay there one night and make a reservation somewhere else.

So we unpack and try to decide where to grab a bit to eat, since it had been a while. We sit down at a bar right outside our guesthouse and grab a beer and have a small meal. Still tired from the trip to Bangkok we find that we weren't even that hungry.

I wanted to see why Koh San Road was so special and why most backpackers decide to stay near here, so I decided to take a walk. You can find damn near anything on Koh San Road, from suits to guys trying to take you to see the ping pong show. Yes I said it... the famous Asian ping pong show. I didnt go see it, but from what I HEAR... its shockingly amazing.

I can see why it is easy to get swept up in this place, but in all honesty I was expecting more out of Bangkok, so I guess tomorrow I will have to do a bit more exploring.

Finally Can Post!!!!

Sorry friends and family, the internet in Southern Cambodia wasn't so great and I was not able to post to my blog. But I am in Thailand now and everything seems to be fine...

Here are some pictures from the South of Cambodia.

Cambodia was more amazing than I thought. I was blown away at how magnificent the beaches look. Absolutely breathtaking. An added bonus was the people I met on the way, I will never forget them and the time we shared together. It was something special.

Backpacking has changed my life for the better and opened me up to so many new things. I will definitely have to visit Cambodia again in the future.
